I am a writer, performer, and scholar. The author of numerous articles and two books, I found out I was also good a grant writing because of my passion to make the world a better place through the arts, service, and education.

 

I have worked for an arts consulting firm in San Francisco, and more recently, as grants manager for Threads Dance company, but have also assisted many other organizations. My Experience includes:

Grant Research and Writing

• Researched funding possibilities and Wrote grants for 10+ years for Social Service, Arts, and Education.

• Created grant funding calendars, identifying funding requirement changes, and new sources.

• Wrote grants for small and large organizations with budgets from $50,000 to $20,000,000.

• Worked as a grant writer for an arts consulting firm, with over fifty small business clients.

• Developed, wrote, and acquired grants from $500 to $90,000, from government, private, and corporate sources.

 

Grant Reports and Grant Administration

• Created Grant Reports and Reviews for non-profits and foundations.

• Organized yearly development calendars for Social Service, Arts, and Education non-profits.

• Maintained client files for agency grant applications (50-100 clients).

• Created and maintained databases of 500+ donors.
   

Writing and Communications

• Created and wrote letters of inquiry to granting organizations.

• Worked directly with agency clients, and organization officers to develop grants and budgets.

• Taught writing skills to a wide range of students, in classes of 5-120 students.

• Wrote, edited and published articles and book manuscripts for publication. 

• Developed materials and presentations.
